Livey likes to grab her Daddy's face with both hands and give him a besito. He came home the other day and she said "Hi Daddy, miss you."🥺 Happy Father's Day to one of Liv's favorite people in the world. She loves her Daddy so much. Her arm bar practice partner😂, the one she loves to cuddle with when sleeping, the one she can run for miles with, explore and just be silly. Thank you Babe for being such an amazing Father. My Mom hugged me the other day and as she kissed my forehead she said, "You're doing a great job. You're so sweet and patient with Liv. You were definitely meant to be a Momma." Hearing those words come from my own Mom just felt so special.💜⁣ ⁣ Having Liv has brought my Mom amd I closer in so many ways. One of the things I love is that we're on the same page about what's best for Liv. Showing her what healthy relationships look like and creating a safe space for her to feel loved, supported and like she can talk us about anything is important to both of us.⁣ ⁣ Before my Nana passed away she was one of my very best friends, I miss her everyday. We could talk about everything and anything. I could go to her in moments where I felt my Mom didn't understand me, she was my safe space. That's the bond I see with my Mom and Livey, and it's so special to see it blossom.⁣ ⁣ I'm thankful to my Mom for supporting me in the Mother I'm trying to be, the different ways I want to parent, and loving my baby girl and I so unconditionally.⁣ ⁣ Happy Mother's Day to my Momma. I am so blessed to have her.🌹⁣ ⁣ Also a Happy Mother's Day to all you beautiful Moms, and to all the Grandmothers/Nanas, not only loving our babies but supporting us in this season of Motherhood. Pure waters and pure smiles🤍
So I did a Pinterest thing and I'm pretty excited about it!⁣ ⁣ For Christmas we bought Liv a play kitchen and since it sits in our dining room (that was the best spot for it to fit), I thought it would be fun to customize it.⁣ ⁣ I've seen these cool pictures all over Pinterest of cute play kitchens, and got some inspiration for this small project.⁣ ⁣ It took a little longer then we were expecting, but we're so happy with the end results!⁣ ⁣ Eric spray painted all of the fixtures and knobs with a gold non-toxic paint. If someone would've told me I'd be spending my 34th Birthday in a whole new city, with my little family I'm not sure I would've believed it. I remember when Birthdays for me meant partying and drinking to get as drunk as possible. When deep down all I wished for is what I have now. I feel blessed for the life I have now. It's not without it's challenges, but the need for partying, alcohol and a constant feeling of loneliness have been replaced by a deep joy, love and support. Not afraid to take risks and finding where our family feels happiest has been such a freeing feeling. #thisislife #34

January 2021 I got a call from my Mom that she wasn't feeling well. A couple of days later a positive test confirmed it was Covid, and things seemed to spiral from there.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A week after her positive test, she only seemed to be getting worse. One evening I called to check on her and she sounded like she was struggling just to breath, and seemed confused. Thankfully my Stepdad was driving her to the hospital.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My heart dropped. When I hung up the phone I just started bawling.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ All these things went through my head, so many things can happen in life and some we can never prepare for. I feel losing a parent is one of them. I was so afraid I was going to lose her.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I talked to my Mom every day, I tried to be strong and positive but I cried every time we hung up. I felt so helpless. All I could do was pray and call her as much as I could.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ While in the hospital she did improve, after a week the Doctor said they were going to discharge her. Even though her oxygen was at 89% there wasn't much else they could do to treat her, and they couldn't send her home with oxygen because the insurance would only approve it if oxygen levels are below 89% (go freakin figure).⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I felt so nervous, I wished she could have another day or two but the Doctor's did what they thought was best and my Mom agreed.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Once she went home, she still struggled. Her oxygen levels is what worried us the most and her fever. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Still...we talked every day. She talked to Livey to help keep her spirits up. I was in awe of how positive my Mom was the whole time and how strong her faith was that she would be ok.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Almost 2 weeks later she was still struggling with her breathing and was thinking of going back to the hospital. None of us wanted that to happen. So her Naturopathic Doctor had her start taking some herbs to help treat her lungs.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I truly believe if not for those and the vitamins they told my Mom to take in the hospital, she would've gone right back in.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ She was sick for 28 days and had a fever for 18. It was one of the scariest experiences I know so many of us have had to go through.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Continued in comments...
